Seagate Grenada harddisks with headcrash on head 0 can be recovered
Till now Seagate Granada harddisk with head crash on the magnetic layer 0 could not be recovered, even when all other layers were unharmed
Normally, Seagate harddisks from series 7200.11 on have two magnetic layers from which the drive can start. Is one layer damaged, then we can start the drive from the other layer.
An exception to this rule is the Seagate Grenada family.
Is magnetic layer 0 damaged, then it is impossible to start the drive.
Due to intensive research in our lab, we managed to do this anyway.
From now on we can recover Seagate Grenada harddisks partially, even when magnetic layer 0 is damaged.
